Upcoming Changes for Michigan BCBSM Direct EDI Submitters

 

Attention Michigan BCBSM Direct EDI Submitters


Blue Cross of Michigan has announced they will be changing the way they receive claims from direct submitters. This does not affect clients that use a clearinghouse other than BCBSM.

Genius and BCBSM will be communicating information on when and how to use the new system in the near future. You may have already seen some notifications that it is coming soon.

BCBSM will be issuing new passwords to you shortly and we want to make sure they have your correct information in their system. So, we are asking you to visit http://geniussolutions.com/edi now and submit your "c0" Billing Location code and contact information. You should fill out the form once for each Billing location code you use. If you don't have a "c0" Billing Location code and don't submit directly to BCBSM leave that part blank and fill out what clearinghouse(s) you do use. BCBSM and Genius are cross-referencing your contact information to ensure our records are up to date.

eTHOMAS users should also visit their Contact Information area inside of eTHOMAS to ensure the option for Authorized Callers (and their information) are up-to-date also. In eTHOMAS click the Utility tab on the top, Settings on the bottom left, then Contacts.

We will be releasing an update for EDI Client in the near future that will allow you to use the new BCBSM transmission system. If you get your password before then, please keep it handy so that when the update is ready you'll be able to enter the new password into your newly updated EDI Client and be ready-to-go quickly.
