Is Your Current EHR a 2015 Edition CEHRT Program?

In case you missed the announcement, this week CMS put out an announcement reminding everyone that they need to be using and attest with a 2015 Edition CEHRT for the 2019 program year. If you choose not to use a 2015 Edition CEHRT (EHR program) then you will not avoid a downward Medicare payment adjustment.

You do not need to have been using one from January 1st, but you do need to be using one for the 90-day continuous period you are attesting with. Per CMS: "In addition to using the 2015 Edition CEHRT, participants must attest to certain statements to demonstrate that they have not knowingly and willfully taken action to limit or restrict the compatibility or interoperability of their CEHRT. These statements are referred to as the “prevention of information blocking attestation.”

ehrTHOMAS is 2015 Certified. The 2015 Edition ehrTHOMAS is currently being released to clients based on their reporting priority. The public release of 2015 Edition ehrTHOMAS will be available in June. As always, our programs will continue to be up-to-date on any 2015 Edition necessities or changes.

If you are using another EHR, check in with them to make sure that they have a 2015 Edition CEHRT program and that you are updated and most current with your program.
