The Neuro Way To Practice 2-Minute Drills *for Chiropractic Offices*

In football when a team needs to score immediately, they go into their 2-minute offense. During practice sessions, they call it the 2-minute drill.


We are launching our version of the 2-minute drill for chiropractors by bringing you a video email of 2-minutes or less, each week, on topics to help your office succeed.  Weekly topics will consist of the following:

Don't Forget-Postage Increase Next Week!

Don't forget, USPS postage is increasing from $.55 to $.58 on August 29th. 

This means if you send physical statements, by mail, it will cost you more beginning next week, this is true if you use Automated's Statement services as well. Automated still hasn't increased our price for materials or labor, but when postage goes up, it also goes up on your statement bill.

EHR Users-Quality Payment Program Deadlines are Quickly Approaching. Are you ready?

 Dear Valued Customers,


October 3rd, 2021 is the last day to start the 90-day performance period for MIPS Promoting Interoperability (PI) and Improvement Activities and it is quickly approaching. Our EHR staff has a few friendly reminders for you to prepare for your attestation at the end of the year:

Run Your Numbers
Don't wait until October 3rd to run your numbers. We recommend that you start running your numbers as soon as you can so you are not playing catch up. If there are any numbers that are falling below your ideal threshold, give us a call and we will walk you through how to improve your numbers.

Check Your Login Credentials
Over the years, we have seen many customers struggle with their attestation because they never checked their login credentials before their attestation date. The website to reset the password tends to get overloaded closer to major deadlines. We don't want that to happen to you. Our staff is encouraging that all current QPP participants to make sure they are able to log into their portal for a smooth attestation.

Update Your Security Risk Assessment
A Security Risk Assessment should be performed or reviewed every year. While QPP does not ask you to submit this assessment, we want to remind all our clients to continue to record, track, and review this report. You do not want to get audited without one.

Document Your Improvement Activities
Generally, 2 high-weighted activities, 1 high-weighted activity, and 2 medium-weighted activities, or 4 medium-weighted activities will be selected to be performed for an office's attestation. In case of an audit, we recommend that you document all your improvement activities with as much evidence to provide your participation. Please visit QPP's website regarding Improvement Activities. Under Additional Resources, you will find a Quick Start Guide and a MIPS Data Validation Criteria of what they are looking for as evidence.

Michigan Offices - Final Notice for BCBSM!

 


Time is running out

Michigan providers that submit claims to Blue Cross EDI need to update their edi client, to continue transmitting. Blue Cross EDI is transitioning to a new format for claim submission. Most offices received an email including instructions and a new password from the migration team at BC EDI.

If you have received your password, but have not transitioned:

  1. Update your eTHOMAS software
  2. After the update is complete open EDI Client
  3. Choose send and receive
  4. Choose the word “EDIT” after the receiver that you use for BC EDI
  5. In the type box choose “BCBSM2021_SFTP”
  6. Click save
  7. When you click on the receiver next time the following will appear:



The username will be your billing location code that starts with c0
Your password you should have received in an email from BC EDI.
If you have not received your password:
E-mail edimigration@bcbsm.com and include your billing location code (c0xxx) and your contact information.

Medicare and Medicare advantage payments:
In March 2020, a waiver was entered on Medicare sequestration until 03/31/2021. Medicare and Medicare advantage programs went forward with adjusting their payments systems to start deducting that amount on dates of service 04/01/2021. However, Congress and Senate were in the processes of extending the sequestration reprieve until 12/31/2021. This was completed and signed into law on 04/14/2021. This may cause Medicare and Medicare Advantages payments to slow temporarily, while they adjust their payment processing systems.

Have You Seen What THOMAS & Waystar Can Do Together?

Patient Claim Information screen - with NEW Waystar additions (You need eTHOMAS version 9.5.61 or higher). You can click on the pictures below to see them larger. :D

There are two new features available for Waystar customers that allow you to easily view the claim history and any EOB that was received on the claim. Both of these features are available from within in the Claim Information screen and accessed by a button at the bottom of the screen. If you are interested in using this new feature, please contact us at 586-751-9080. 

New Waystar buttons on your patient claims

There are two new buttons (on the bottom left) that connect you to Waystar claim awesomeness-- ClmHis (Claim History) and  EOB (EOB).


Claim History 

The Claim History (ClmHis) button will launch Waystar’s portal and allow you to view this claim’s history, such as when the claim was submitted, when the various payers received it, when payments were initiated, and allow you to view EOB’s and other reports. 


EOB 

The EOB button will launch Waystar’s portal and allow you to view the EOB for this claim.

Chiropractors- Evaluation & Management Coding 2021: What You Need to Know Now!

Chiropractors- there have been revisions in both the codes and how to determine what level of code to use for E & M visits in 2021. Dr. Ted Arkfeld, DC, MS is doing a webinar through Northwestern Health Sciences University, on February 18th on this topic, from 1-3pm CST (2-4 EST).

Michigan BCBSM Users - You need to update!

 



Genius Solutions has released eTHOMAS version 9.5.68. This release includes the update for the Blue Cross EDI Migration. Clients who utilize BC EDI for their clearing house will need to update to this current version, as soon as possible, in order to send claims on the new BC EDI platform. BC EDI will provide you with your new credentials that will need to be added to EDI client, if you need any assistance please contact Genius Support. (586) 751-9080
