eTHOMAS Tips: Connecting With Genius

We're going to present some of the new features and options in eTHOMAS from time to time, in case you missed them, or just didn't know.

Today we're going to talk about Connecting with Genius Solutions. Two ways, to connect computer-to-computer when we are working with you on support issues and how to update your authorized callers with us.

Don't want to wait for the new Tips and Tricks to be posted one or two at a time? You want them all now? Click here for instant, complete, .PDF gratification.

*As of v9.5.18, the following features are available.

Connecting with us computer-to-computer for support.

Through the years we've connected with you, our clients in a variety of ways - all the way back to dial-up modems. We refined this and made it easier than ever to connect with us. There is now a button inside of the eTHOMAS program itself to allow you to connect with us. This method is both easier and more secure because it is directly between you/your computer and us.

When our Support Department asks to connect to your computer, you will now be able to launch our connection tool from within eTHOMAS through Messaging | Connect to GS Support. Use the connection tool only when asked to by a Genius Solutions' representative.

Authorized Callers

Back in the day.... okay, even up through most of last year. If you wanted to make changes or updates to the authorized caller list for your office, you can to call in, have a form sent to you, fill it out, sign it, and fax it back in. At which point usually someone from admin would call and verify the information and then make the changes in our system for you. Whew, I'm tired just writing about it. Now you can do it yourself. Once you've uploaded the information into your eTHOMAS, it will update our system for you, directly from your program. Nice and simple.

To do this, as with all new features in eTHOMAS, you (a person with management level access to eTHOMAS) will need to open and assign access to this area. From Utility | Settings | Groups, edit the desired group, scroll to the Utility category and set the Contact to the desired access level.

Access Contacts by going to Utility | Settings | Contacts. An Authorized Caller is an individual approved by the Licensee of Genius Solutions software to represent the Licensee in the use and maintenance of the software and any data contained therein. This individual should be trained on how to use the software. Maintaining a list of Authorized Callers will assist our staff in identifying people who should be/are allowed to contact us on your behalf, regarding your computer system, network, and data as it relates to the Genius Solutions software. Once your contact information is complete or updated, click the Sync button to send the information to us. The Contacts feature works per account number. Offices with more than one data directory (medsys) will share "Contacts" across all of the directories on their office system.

All Authorized Callers should be added to the Contact List. When the information is Synced with Genius Solutions, only the Contacts listed will be considered Authorized to speak to Genius Solutions.

Please Note:

With this new system in place, you are in control. It is no longer possible for us to update, change, or correct your e-mail or contact people for you. If someone needs to be removed, you must do it in your system, at your office. If you have a typo or otherwise incorrect e-mail, we cannot fix it, you must check and correct it. [Per news-geek Penny, if you don't have a correct, current e-mail address in your THOMAS system and you haven't checked that you want to receive info, or you have blocked Genius or haven't put Genius on your e-mail's "safe" list- you will not receive any of the e-mails, information, or other alerts and stuff she is asked to e-mail out to you and this makes her sad. :-( ]
